How did you feel when you woke up this morning?
Did you feel tired and achy and older than your years? Did you roll out of bed only after hitting the snooze button a few times? Did you need some coffee to get going? Life feels so much harder when we’re exhausted. We’ve got so many people relying on us, sometimes we secretly long to get sick just to take a day off!
Do you make your health and happiness a priority?
We women are notorious for putting ourselves and our health at the bottom of our to-do lists. We have a million excuses for why now is just not the right time. “When the kids start (insert milestone here: preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, college, graduate school?!).” “When I finish this big project at work.” “After we sell the house.” But here’s the rub, there’s never a “right” time! Life happens, whether we’re healthy or not (and oh, it’s so much harder when we’re not!).
Are you too tired to create new habits?
I rarely meet a woman over forty who isn’t just plain exhausted. Decades of running on empty tend to catch up to you in your forties and fifties. We forget what it’s like to not be tired! Creating new, healthy habits can be tough, especially when you’re running on empty. Even enjoyable activities like hosting a dinner party can become a chore when you have to do them bleary-eyed.
Imagine waking up tomorrow with twice as much energy! Would you:
Be more patient with your husband and children?
Find the courage to pursue the career of your dreams?
Make the effort to entertain more often?
Cook more meals from scratch?
Get to the gym on a regular basis?
Take the time to better manage your finances?
